NEW ASPHALT INSTALLATIONS
Paved asphalt surfaces are designed to provide all-weather use. The aesthetics of any property are enhanced by the clean, smooth look of professionally constructed pavement.

ASPHALT OVERLAY
Asphalt overlay can be installed between 1 – 2 ½ inches. Tack emulsion is first added as binding agent, asphalt is spread and properly compacted.
ASPHALT SEALCOATING
Seal coating is designed to protect asphalt pavements from the damaging effects of the environment, including moisture and ultraviolet oxidation.

PARKING LOT STRIPING
Parking lot striping is one of the simplest yet important services New Design provides. Clearly marked stalls, handicap spaces, and directional arrows, all make for a more efficient and problem-free parking lot.

ASPHALT PATCHING
When areas of pavement deteriorate and need to be repaired, New Design corrects the problem by using one either Skin Patching or Removal and Replacement.

ASPHALT CRACKFILLING
Crack sealer is an elastic material designed to seal joints and cracks against moisture infiltration into the sub-grade.

Why Sealcoat
When cold weather hits here in Minnesota any water that may have leaked into the surface of our pavement with turn to ice and expand creating a crack or some times a hole.

To prevent this from happening we first clean the surface then we fill the cracks in with a hot rubber filler and finally we sealcoat the entire area to protect it from the weather, moister and UV rays.

By doing this possess every two years your pavement will last much longer and look aesthetically pleasing.
  COMMERCIAL . RESIDENTIAL
Asphalt is sand, rock and oil. The sand and rock is relatively permanent and usually will not fail. The oil is the binder that holds it all together and unfortunately it is highly susceptible to problems with sun, water and traffic so it needs to be sealcoated.

A good asphalt pavement seldom wears out; external factors destroy the asphalt oil that binds it all together. Slowly at first, quickly as time goes on. The deterioration begins as soon as the asphalt is installed. Just watch the colour turn from rich black to oxidized gray in no time. The sun dries out the natural oils and resins that are essential for the pavements strenght and flexability. Soon cracks form and before you know it you have the the start of a maintenance problem. Water will seep into the base and soften it, or freeze and expand it. Soon the pavement starts to deteriorate, creating a larger more expensive problem. Sealing is not a substitute for repairs to damaged surfaces. It can, however, prolong the life of weathered surfaces and prevent good surfaces from becoming damaged.
