Snow & Ice Management FAQ:
Will you be ready for every storm, all winter long?
Yes – 24 hours a day – 7 days a week – all winter long.
Do you provide deicing service?
Yes, we can deice driving areas and walking areas.
What is a trigger?
A trigger is the minimum depth of snow that we will provide service. Most of our customers have a one inch trigger. Some have zero inch trigger – also known as zero tolerance. This means that if we get one inch of snow of more we will start plowing. However, if there is supposed to be four inches of snow we will typically wait until the four inches has fallen to start plowing. Typically a second plowing will take place for every four inches of snow that falls. (e.g. 6 inch snow fall = 2 plows, 9 inch snow fall = 3 plows)
What professional organizations are associated with a snow & ice management?
Snow & Ice Management Association (SIMA – www.sima.org) – This association is a non-profit trade association committed to raising the standards of professionalism within the snow & ice management industry. The primary goal of this organization is to advance the interests and concern of its members. Through various programs they promote safety, training and a highly professional, responsible image of the snow & ice management professional.
